What is the nicest way someone has ever given you advice/ what is the best way to give advice?

Depends what you want to say, and to whom. Some people start recoiling at the first suggestion of the first hint of a whiff of an idea of criticism. Assuming that you have really perceived the full problem - which itself is an art, and always means that you can interpret it into your own experience (otherwise you'll just be judging and that will come across) - and assuming that the person who has the problem really is ready to listen to a solution (i.e. take responsibility for the cause) - then the advice will naturally come out sweetly and honestly. That's the best way, but not always possible. You could try sandwiching the criticism between two compliments, or you could try ';hiding'; the criticism by criticising yourself (';I always find in the same situation that...';) or by making your points ';hypothetical'; using lots of ';ifs'; and ';coulds'; and ';mights'; (';you realise if you don't tell him, he might think...';). Sometimes though the best way is being brutally (although staying friendly of tone) direct, and to hell with how they react. What is the nicest way someone has ever given you advice/ what is the best way to give advice?
