If you're looking for a career in photography, even if you don't yet have qualifications, there are plenty of ways you can take advantage of your talent to earn money including things like microstock sites etc.

I've listed a few resources to introduce you to the various ways you can start earning from your digital photography below. Whilst it's not as easy as some would have you believe, it is entirely possible to start earning good money online provided you have a decent DSLR and can take a good photo.
Great question Hailey!

Here's a secret none of the photo schools want to you know...you don't need any sort of formal education to be a professional photographer! It's nice, but you CAN easily learn it on your own!

I've been in the business 19 years and no one has EVER asked me for any sort of educational credentials.

PLUS, surprisingly enough 90% of all the photos a wedding/portrait professional does are standard poses in standard locations.

Being super creative is terrific for your own enjoyment and for the photo contests, but CUSTOMERS all want the classics. If you deviate too much, they don't buy.

So, to answer your question...if you want to try photography as a career, learn to master your camera settings so you can consistently get stunning photos...learn the basic poses...then start making money.

It really doesn't have to be any more difficult than that.

Dan
Take an art class (any one, doesnt have to be photography) to learn composition and artistic things. then learn as mush as possible about the thing you plan about taking photos of. I take landscapes, so I learn as much as possible about the natural world. If you were to be portrait person, you need to know people. then find a camera that you like.
Click and read about it and it's masters.

Here is one :

The simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event its proper expression... . In photography, the smallest thing can be a great subject. The little human detail can become a leitmotif.'; 鈥?Henri Cartier-Bresson
Photography is so much fun, there's something about seeing your finished work that makes you happy, when you step back and see something that looks amazing and you know that it's your own.

The awesome thing is that there's no right and wrong, because it's about your own personality and creativity.

If you enjoy it, definitely give it a go.
1. Read the manual that came with your camera.

2. Practice shooting.

3. Don't post pictures here asking people what they think of it. You need to figure this out for yourself.

4. Experiment.

5. Get a tripod.
Get any old camera and set an assignment for yourself. ';Today I will photograph only round things, today I will photograph only blue things, today only animals, today only metal things';.....sort of train your eye this way and see what happens. Have fun and good luck....one day just things that you can see a face in it.....one day only things you see in clouds
