General advice about life...from your experience
thanks in advanceWhat advice would you give me?
lifes a ***** then you dieWhat advice would you give me?
I come from a long line of control freaks and buttinskies and this advice has helped me many times.
Smile.
Nod.
Agree.
Then do what you want anyway.
I will give you a bunch of platitudes and cliches, that turned out to be true.
1. Don't sweat the small stuff
2. Hard work is its own reward
3. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
4. Let your conscience be your guide.
5. Take the time to smell the roses
And my very favorite: ';Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth.'; (Mark Twain)
If you do the work you are supposed to do, to the best of your abilities, do not court trouble, and generally be responsible, you will have a great life. While it is true that sometimes bad things happen that you couldn't have seen coming, it is how you handle it that matters in the long run.
1 Have a good relationship with yourself. Seriously, this helps in everything in life.
This from a guy that was suicidal. Don't take anything for granted. Tell people how much you care.Instead of sitting in the back come forward and help whenever you can. If it comes down to playing with the kids or vacuuming the house play with the kids. The house will be there tomorrow and it wont feel left out if you leave. Life is short. Enjoy every moment and cherish all the people in your life even the ones that don't like you. Because with out people disliking you you would never appreciate the ones that do. Never step on your family because in the end if things go wrong they will be the ones there for you. That last one came from a great person my Dad.
Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
Manners don't cost a penny.
Have a good heart and help those in need.
Have fun
Find a job you love so work isn't dreaded.
Always be truthful
Have integrity
Don't be selfish
don't marry someone who has known mental issues.
