i'm a size 5. i dont know what my height is but im average in height but more on the shorter side, do you get what i mean?I'm trying to change my wardrobe from casual to classy, an advice on key items that you think look classy?
I like cashmere sweaters. Also, try buying pencil skirts, pointed toe heels, trenchcoats, and button down shirts paired with sweaters. Anything in navy blue looks classy as well.I'm trying to change my wardrobe from casual to classy, an advice on key items that you think look classy?
Blazers/Jackets are great. Just make sure they fit properly, it can make all the difference in the world. Wear a nice button down blouse underneath. Pants in dark colors work well, again make sure the fit is perfect. And take really good care of your clothes. Make sure they're clean and ironed. If you do have some nice jewelry (it doesn't have to be a lot. One or two pieces will do), make sure it is clean also. Jewelry cleaner is inexpensive. And don't forget your shoes! Be sure they're clean and free of scuff marks. Remember to think about the whole look, polished and put together
I think wearing pearls is always classy
Dress up jeans with longchain necklaces and spike heels, with either a tight shirt and a short vest or a shirt dress and thick belt.
As long as you press and starch your old clothes and wear matching accessories you can re-invent anything in your closet.
Some tricks I've used when I didn't have a lot of money to buy new clothes:
1. Stop wearing printed/patterned clothes. No flowers, no polka dots, no stripes, no plaid. Solid colors always look more classy. Similarly, keep your bright colors up top and don't wear bright colored pants.
2. V-necks. Don't ask me why, but I think V-necks look more classy than round-necked shirts. I don't mean really low-cut V-necks or anything; you should wear them modestly. V-necks also help elongate the body for we girls of average or short stature.
3. Invest in some white long sleeved cotton T-shirts. Cheap! When you wear them under other long-sleeved shirts or under sweaters, and you get a bit of the white peeking out at the neckline and at the sleeves, I don't know, that just looks ';upgraded'; to me.
4. Get a good haircut, and take the time to style it appropriately every day. A good haircut makes a good outfit look even better.
Hope those help! Good luck.
less is more in the classy world..you don't want to wear anything too revealing, but actually classics that never go out of style...they say you should stay with three colors, so pick three colors that look good on you. I just saw these sweaters at Wallmart for 10.00...they're real soft and simple..with a round neck...point is you need some simple sweaters, some classic white shirts..a good coat..if your on the east coast, i'd go with a black or brown coat that fits you well..you'll need some pearls...fake are fine and wear them mid length..not real long..simple, natural looking fingernails that are not too long, or bright colors...makeup that is simple, but flattering...also, invest in some shoes..if your talking classy, your talking about being around people that probably have better jobs..and in the corporate world, they say a man's shoes tell a lot...if you have a Ross near you, i'd go there and get some flat simple leather shoes..it's okay to have a design, or some special stitching as long as it's done tastefully, and not too flashy...good luck
Check out some of the IDEAS on the main key pieces in J crew,Aeropostale (for more casual classy) American Eagle, Limited (for nice dress attire) and Banana Republic.(for high trendy fashion at an affordable normal price)..like a woman's suit, some khaki's, nice sweaters, although you are young live a little...you don't have to be conservative everyday at work just yet be young have fun but still have some nice classy dress clothes.
also look at Caribbean clothes form Puerto Rico and The Dominican Republic they are classy and comfortable and now in style and cool
Clean denim that is not distressed or ripped in any way is less casual, I like to wear dark blue clean denim skinny jeans with stilettos when I'm going out.. I guess it looks more classy. I suppose that the difference between looking classy and casual is looking polished? Shiny, conservative and clean. Not necessarily wearing high heels, trying to look flashy or exposing more flesh at all.
You could invest in a couple of good necklaces, (e.g. one gold one silver) that don't look cheap and that you'd be comfortable wearing again and again with a variety of outfits.
Stay away from low necklines and really short skirts, they can definately make you look less classy if not worn tastefully..
