Can you give me some advice please?

I recently found an old phone number of my best friend from elementary, middle, and high school. Our families were very close. I dated her brother. We grew up together. I have been wanting to call it, because I know ti is still a good number, but the last time I spoke to her was in 1998. My family had to hide for a personal reason and we had to lose contact with a lot of people so i couldn't call her or anyone. So it's been 11 years. I really want to talk to her but, I don't know. Any suggestions?Can you give me some advice please?

Why not? 11 years is PLENTY of small talk, so even if you guys don't just fall to talking like it's old times, at least you will be able to ask each other about life/work during the past 11 years. A good friend will be able to forgive the slight awkwardness; it's nice to hear from old friends! You could exchange email addresses and then stay in touch a bit more -- or, if it seems too forced, then you can just let the friendship fade away again. Either way -- might as well pick up the phone!
I think you should go for it! I mean, yes it may be awkward at first considering you haven't talked for 11 years.. but it would be interesting to see where she ended up and to get together sometime to cath up.
